Listen to SUBSONiC anytime, anywhere.

I've never been one to hide my love away so my adoration of Human Kebab has never been a secret. No man alive can move this booty like he does--it doesn't hurt that he has a serious chub for DFA. News of his weekly radio program on Sonic 102.9 out of Edmonton delighted the fuck out of me, but it's timing of 11pm Edmo time (1am Trawna time) on Fridays and Saturdays was a total bummer. That's just when mama's pounding back the last shots of the night, losing wigs, and getting mystery bruises. I would sometimes find wi-fi and try to listen from my phone, but that rarely worked, and it's super anti-social to excuse yourself to go stand in the washroom to listen to the radio by yourself.
Somebody up there likes me, because the good people at Sonic have made all the broadcasts available on their website. You can rip 'em easily using offliberty. I want this show syndicated all over Canada. "That's just because you have a boner for Jay", you protest. I have a boner for Jay because he's talented.
Shimmy shimmy yo shimmy yo shimmy ye,

Pretty delicious playlist today if'n I do say so myself. We celebrated Hollerado's new album (White Paint) and the 19th anniversary of Kurt's death. Now I know Kurt Cobain isn't Canadian, but just consider the Nirvana songs commercial breaks. We'll be back after these short Nirvana songs...
It all grew out of the pre-show practice of playing non-Canadian songs, the pre-show, which usually becomes pre-show grunge, which became 'Taking the Plunge'...because nothing preps the body for cancon quite like dirt nineties grunge.

Breed - Nirvana
Living Proof - Dearly Beloved
Drain You - Nirvana
He's Waiting - Dearly Beloved
Lithium - Nirvana
Happy - hHead
Pull Out - Death from Above 1979
Territorial Pissings - Nirvana
Sirens - Pack A.D.
I'm Still Your Fag - Broken Social Scene
On a Plain - Nirvana
Wonder Velocity Charlie & Me - Hollerado
Don't Think - Hollerado
His Eyes - Yacht Club
Book Club - Arkells
Indestructible - Matthew Good Band
Ugly - Age of Electric
Flash - Yacht Club
Son the Father - Fucked Up
Some Kinda Fun - Teenage Head
Desire 126 - Hollerado
You're Lovely but You Got lots of Problems - Death from Above 1979
Prefontaine - USS
Girl (I never meant to hurt you baby...) - Poisonous Glass
Damini - USS
A Singer Must Die - Leonard Cohen

Some exciting stuff on the horizon for CV. We'll be in Montreal for Pouzzafest so come party with us. Can't wait to buy some wigs, some poutine, some French Archie comics...love Quebec til I rot. Holla at chya girl if you want to hear anything on CV. Remember-we only play cancon and nirvana.

Just learned how to make GIFS, so for the learning process I decided to work with faces I never seem to sicken of. The clips are taken from the ridiculous 'USS Cooks and Cleans', which is available for your perusal here.

the lava and ash sound like/feel like a warm wash of your mothers milk after a hot summer day of playing skeet ball and laughing at you grandpa tripping over that fuzzy lil dog that is always running around the block and no one knows who owns the fucking thing but no one really cares cause its cute as cute as the greasy boys in this wonderfully perverted yes perversion can be wonderful kiddies(oh thats a lil creepy) band, oh they are lookers so watch it daddys or you'll be finding these boys with more then just their music in your wives and daughters wink wink nudge nudge.

Robyn Dell'Unto playing Czehoski at 11:00 PM.
The Fabu Balconies at Cabin 5 at 11:00 PM.

Montreal's Parlovr plays the Dine Alone Showcase at the El Mocambo. It's two floors one ticket, Parlovr's downstairs 12 AM. chicka chicka yeah.
Carleton Stone doing double duty, back at the Cadillac Lounge at 1:00 AM.
Zeus is at the Horseshoe Tavern at 1 AM with a *secret guest* at 2AM. Who could it be? Dan Mangan? Mebbe? Just speculation. CMW's secret guests are always exciting. Well worth taking a risk before finding out it's your fave-rave via twitter! (wah-wah!)

OSHEAGA 2012 Line Up Hoax!

Montreal's Osheaga festival runs August 3-5 this year at parc Jean Drapeau. I've been waiting for the 2012 lineup ever since I left the park for Osheaga 2011, but this flyer floating around this week seemed to be highly suspect. It seemed a stark departure from last year's lineup. Also, the billing structure seemed slightly off. Newmarket heartthrobs Serial Joe receiving higher billing than Feist, The Weeknd, Skrillex? Soundgarden and Slash just floating around quietly the smaller acts ghetto section of the flyer? It also seemed pretty heavy on nineties acts, and kinda low on Canadians. An insane amount of big "headliner" acts. Just seemed really weird. Check out last year's lineup to compare:

There's a reason for the weirdness: the 2012 line up has been reported as fake by Osheaga's twitter folks. According to them, the real line up is mieux, (better, for those who failed)
soooo PARTY! BONUS!

Only one act has been announced this year and that's California's Young the Giant. The band'll also be making an appearance at Toronto's Edgefest July 14th alongside CV favourites Ubiquitous Synergy Seeker and Death from Above 1979. YTG has a Montrealais drummer and recently played a sold-out show at the Sound Academy last Thursday, with a cameo by Osheaga alum Tokyo Police Club.
